2016 Schedule Released!

The surest sign that spring is only a few days away?  The release of the 2016 BTSH schedule, of course!

Schedule

Our schedule does not look nearly as pretty as the NFL schedule. It also does not have any primetime or weekday night games…yet.

We spent a lot of time and energy to put this together, so indulge us as we point out some of the highlights…

Opening Day:
The season opens on April 3, but you already knew that, because you read our post last week about Opening Day.  What’s that? You didn’t? Sigh, we’ll wait for you to catch up, Georgine. Okay, all good now? Moving on…

Rivalry Week:
BTSH’s favorite marketing gimmick is back! And we heard your complaints about Rivalry Week being so closely associated with Rich Glanzer’s birthday, so this year, Rivalry Week has been pushed back to June 12.

This year’s slate of grudge matches includes Fresh Kills-Filthier (top two regular season records in 2015), Rehabs-Mathematics (playoff opponents the past two seasons), What The Puck-Dark Rainbows (Mike Dudolevitch, never forget!), Gremlins-Instant Karma (the “friendly” rivalry), Butchers-Fuzz (off-season player movement), and many others!

Rivalry Week’s equivalent to this? Probably the Sky Fighters-Cobra Kai matchup.

Crossover Sunday:
A new twist to the schedule this year is one Sunday dedicated solely to conference crossover games.  And to add to the drama, we matched entire divisions against each other.  So on July 24, the five Brown Division squads square off against opponents from the $h0wT!m3 Division, while the Glanzer Division quintet matches up with the contingents from the Greene Division.

Playoffs:
The playoffs will start on September 25, with the championship game slated for October 23.  So for those of you running the marathon, or just wanting to watch the marathon, your plans are safe…unless Mr. Met graces this site with his presence at least twice during the playoffs.

The full 2016 schedule can be viewed here: http://www.btsh.org/bruise/news-info/schedule/. You can also get full analysis and team-by-team breakdowns by tuning in to BTSH 2Night*, featuring host Sam Norris and our panel of experts: Dave Sokolyansky (schedule strength), Julie Katz (fantasy impact), and Rich Glanzer (prognostication).  Rich is already predicting a 3-14-1 finish for Fuzz.

*Sadly, not a real TV show.
