Where My Jews At?

Rainbows vs. LBS

Dark Rainbows (1-0) vs. LBS (1-0)
Location:
Corlears North, 3:00 PM
All-Time Series: LBS leads 5-4-1
Game Notes:
Both teams started the season on the right foot with solid wins in their opening matches.  Going back to last year, the Dark Rainbows have now won six consecutive games, although they showed a little rust last week.  After dominating goaltending throughout the 2007 playoffs, Trevor Tyrrell (who now wants to be known as “White Jesus”) looked almost human by allowing two goals against Filthy Gorgeous.  LBS showed a lot of heart against a revamped Cobra Kai team, as they rallied from behind to win 3-2.  However, two of their goals came from Molly Jacobs, who will be a good 3,000 miles from the court on Sunday.  In four years, these teams have already played each other ten times, including several classic playoff games.  The series is now about even, and we can expect the same from this game.
Keys to the Game:
1. The Rainbows can count on a solid performance from White Jesus, so it will be up to their balanced offensive attack to make the difference.
2. With Ken “The Alpha Male” Poulin still serving his suspension, Karsten Pichon and Brian “Grandmaster B” Barrett will be the duo to keep an eye on for LBS.
3. Sean Reynolds hit the weight room hard all winter.  Although he can now bench press 500 pounds and squat more than 700, his new found muscle mass may slow him down.
Eli’s Pick: Dark Rainbows.  Even though I’m Jewish, I recognize the awesomeness of White Jesus.
Derek’s Pick: Dark Rainbows.  They truly have some of the best unknown scorers in the league.  I expect a lot of goals by a lot of different people.

Cobra Kai (0-1) vs. Fresh Kills (0-0-0-1)
Location:
Corlears South, 3:00 PM
All-Time Series: Fresh Kills lead 3-0-1
Game Notes: Cobra Kai looked surprisingly impressive last week, despite their tough one goal loss, while Fresh Kills looked a little flat in their season debut against the Sky Fighters.
Eli’s Pick: Fresh Kills.  This should be a close game, but the veteran experience of Fresh Kills will carry them through.
Derek’s Pick: Fresh Kills.  They’ll come out with a lot more energy this week, especially if Jeff Lesser plays.

Mexican Standoff (0-1) vs. What The Puck (1-0)
Location: Moffo, 3:00 PM
All-Time Series: What The Puck leads 5-0
Game Notes: Mexican Standoff looks to earn their first victory ever against What the Puck.
Eli’s Pick: What the Puck
Derek’s Pick: What the Puck

Tuques (0-1) vs. Unicorns (0-1)
Location
: Corlears North, 4:00 PM
All-Time Series: Unicorns lead 8-0
Game Notes: This matchup will determine the best team in BTSH that wears yellow.
Eli’s Pick: Unicorns.  Since the Tuques will wear red, the Unicorns win by default.
Derek’s Pick: Unicorns.  Ug bought me a shot for my birthday last week, so I’ll go with his team.

Sky Fighters (1-0) vs. Rehabs (0-0-1)
Location:
Corlears South, 4:00 PM
All-Time Series: Tied 3-3
Game Notes: As they prepare for next week’s game against the Unicorns, are $howT!m3 and the Rehabs looking past the dangerous Sky Fighters?
Eli’s Pick: Rehabs
Derek’s Pick: Rehabs.  They didn’t look especially impressive last week against the Squirrels, but I’m still not completely sold on the Sky Fighters.

Filthy Gorgeous (0-1) vs. Corlears Hookers (1-0)
Location: Moffo, 4:00 PM
All-Time Series: Corlears Hookers lead 1-0
Game Notes: Both of these teams bring a style of play that is well-suited to Moffo.  Combine that with their intertwining histories, and this could be the best game that no one sees.
Eli’s Pick: Corlears Hookers
Derek’s Pick: Corlears Hookers

Mathematics (1-0) vs. Happy Little Elves (1-0)
Location:
Corlears North, 5:00 PM
All-Time Series: First Meeting
Game Notes: The Happy Little Elves celebrated their first all-time win last week.  However, with that game taking place at Moffo, there is still very little known about them.  The Mathematics played their typical game, with Andy Pratt leading them to victory.

Gouging Anklebiters (0-1) vs. Mighty Squirrels (0-0-1)
Location:
Corlears South, 5:00 PM
All-Time Series: Mighty Squirrels lead 3-1-1
Game Notes: Both of these teams are still looking for their first goal of the season.
Eli’s Pick: Gouging Anklebiters
Derek’s Pick: Mighty Squirrels

Bad Touch (0-1) vs. Denim Demons (1-0)
Location:
Moffo, 5:00 PM
All-Time Series: Denim Demons lead 7-3
Game Notes: The Denim Demons are currently riding a seven game winning streak in this series.
Eli’s Pick: Denim Demons.  They’ll be missing some players due to Passover, but captain Adam “Legend Killer” Rubens will lead them to victory.
Derek’s Pick: Denim Demons

Media’s Records:
Eli:
4-4
Derek: 5-3
