Week 1 Previews (Predictions)
Shameless plugging – tonight is the Season Opening Party at a rooftop lounge in Chinatown and there’s still time to get in on the 2019 Survivor Pool! Also, stay tuned for information on the 2019 Rose Charities Tournament (April 27th)…
And now, your 2019 Opening Day Previews!
Fuzz at Filthier
Prediction: the reigning champs enjoyed themselves a little too much this offseason as Glanzerâs new sleeveless shirt is a size muumuu. Their new net minder is tested often by James and Sean, but it is Jeff and Alexa that lead Fuzz to an opening day W 4-3.
Poutine Machine at What the Puck
Prediction: thereâs something about this matchup that brings out the absolute best in both teams and this one doesnât disappoint. SBJ (sweet baby James) and Nicorette get the Poos out to an early lead, but General Hogg Solo leads the Plucky Pucks back in the second half and gets the win in OT 3-2.
Instant Karma at Gremlins
Prediction: these two clean Katz Division teams know each other quite well and it shows. Salt Boyzzz work magic with the ball as Cody zips around the court and Marcella settles into her office atop the crease. But all of their effort is for naught as Swaggy Sam stifles the Grems offense while Liz-T sneaks one past Jamie 1-0.
Gut Rot at Denim Demons
Prediction: miserably welcoming the retooled Demons to the Michaliga Division are the Rotter Bitchezzz. This past Sunday at the FA Scrimmage Boatsex was boasting about his teamâs chances at winning the division and they get off on the right foot 4-1.
LBS, Inc. at Cobra Kai
Prediction: last year Roberts and LBS were one of a few teams to defeat Cobra Kai, even though it was an LOL shootout. This year they pull off the unthinkable again only this time it is in regulation 2-1.
Butchers at Corlears Hookers
Prediction: the revamped roster by Dana aka âthe Architectâ takes some time to develop a feel for each other, but they find a way to eek out the W over Sarahâs salty Hookers 3-2.
Gouging Anklebiters at Mathematics
Predictions: two storied BTSH franchises that know how to represent what the league is all about. Herrâs ringers show promise out on our revered courts, however, the Biters play with more of an edge and pull this one out 5-2.
Mega Touch at Dark Rainbows
Prediction: the rematch of last yearâs Schlitz Cup is the marquee matchup of the week! Too bad it fails to live up to the hype as Mega rolls 6-2.
Rehabs at Fresh Kills
Prediction: for the second straight season these two league monsters lock horns to kick off the season with a precious two points and divisional standings on the line. Carlin was supposed to be the new league sweetheart, but instead turned heel by joining Rehabs. Fresh Kills avenges last seasonâs opening day loss 4-2.
Sky Fighters at Tompkins Square Riots
Prediction: the Katie Bowl gets off to an amicable start, but then quickly turns sour as Greg puts Suz in a corner. Nobody does that to the Riots and they pull off the upset 3-2.
