Trash Three Stars of Week 16

By Oscar the Grouch

Maybe it’s because the season is winding down or that football is winding up, but this past weekend nothing crazy happened. Keeping on theme with this past week’s fantastic previews and focusing on the hard hitting ball hockey journalism you come here to read, please accept this incredibly trash 3 stars. If you don’t hear from me after this week I’ve been axed by Glanzer.

Third Trash

Everyone who won their games in a shootout! If I’m being honest, stars should be given out to teams for simply winning hockey. And that’s what all these people did! Go team(s) !!!!

Second Trash

WTP for beating Gut Rot to notch an 11 game win streak and a jump in the rankings. Two super super incredibly higher ranked teams with way harder schedules- Filthier and Hookers- lost, catapulting WTP to greatness.

First Trash

And finally. The the pièce de résistance  The first star goes to the Lbs making a victorious comeback from Fresh Kills. The Lbs have only lost one game this year and after heroically getting what would have been a devastating early 2nd goal from FK called back, went on to win it 4-1. Glanzer said it best, “The Lbs comeback was extraordinary considering they had 49 minutes and 20 seconds left to overcome a 1 goal deficit against a team with one male sub”. *chef’s kiss*.

Honorable Mentions (highly deserving)

HM3 Gil turned 57 and scored a sick shootout goal. He may be older but he’s better at hockey and cooler than most of the guys* on Fuzz will ever be! *not Walsh.

HM2 Dave L and Steve seriously helped Gut Rot with their goalie woes and each played a half. Dave, coming off a 70 mile bike ride the day before and Steve whose team hadn’t yet played, helped out in what could have been an ugly 6 man and no goalie situation.

HM1 Casca played 4 games in goal (same as last weekend) in what will hopefully be the hottest day of September and notched a shutout for his own team.

BONUS HM Everyone who showed up to play. Because if I’m being honest, we’re *all* winners <3 Hockey isn’t about winning or losing, it’s about participating. Right, Rich?
