Bill’s Final Word on the Championship … Resiliency… no wait, Consistency

(Editor’s note: It’s professional Hunter S. Thompson impersonator Bill Tucker’s turn to share some thoughts on the Final)

After seeing Fresh Kills storm their way to a second straight Finals game, one word come to mind when discussing the Tagliarino Conference Champs.  Resiliency.  Witnessing the Blue Bombers come back from a pair of 2-0 deficits en route to the big game was like watching the Detroit Tigers defeat the Milwaukee Brewers in the 1901 World Series, without the super hiked pantaloons.  With Kevin “The Planet” Foster providing offense from the blueline and Patrick “I’m Running Out Of Nicknames” Barch tending the pipes, the Killers seem poised to repeat as BTSH champs.

Unfortunately, for Sokolyansky’s Slayers, LBS has a buzz word of their own.  Consistency.  Despite their 7th seed, The Corporation boasts an uncanny ability to take opponents off their game with a brand of hockey so disciplined, it makes General Patton look like Barney Gumble.  Anybody on the Polo Wearers could take the game over but my Spidey Sense tells me either Ken “The Alpha Male” Poulin or Seth “The Mylec Wonder” Wachtell will emerge the heroes.  LBS will need to play their best hockey of the year to upset the reigning champs but if the White Wall holds true, Fresh Kills may be stuck singing the former champion blues.  Pun shamelessly intended.
