August 10 Previews

you see her. Plus she's quietly putting up a stellar season with 2 goals and ***at least*** one really nifty assist.

Jackie’s birthday is coming up…so buy a beer for her the next time Plus she’s quietly putting up a stellar season with 2 goals and ***at least*** one really nifty assist.

Rehabs at Gremmies

Rich: Gremlins 3-1
Derek: Last week, the Rehabs won 3-2.  That sounds good to me.
Eli: This game went to a shootout last week, but we see the Rehabs taking this one in regulation, 2-0.

Cobra Kai at Mathematics

Rich: Didn’t this used to be a rivalry? That’s as dead as the Fairy Tale Cup. CK 4-3 in what’s not really an upset.
Derek: I’d be pretty upset.

Gut Rot at Mega Touch

Rich: Gut Rot prevails 4-1
Derek: Mega’s really struggled this season, and Gut Rot looks decent again.  4-1 Gutties.
Eli: Gut Rot looked impressive last week. We see more of the same, as Gut Rot triumphs 5-2.

Happy Little Elves at Filthy Gorgeous

Rich: Elves got smoked last week. Filthy is sorta on fire. James and Suvin have best hockey duo on lockdown.
Derek: I’m watching Rudy on MSG right now, and the movie uses fake names for all of the players.  I guess I can understand that, but how cool would it have been to see a young Joe Montana floating around?  6-0 James Pereira.
Eli: We feel like the Elves have had Filthy’s number of late, and see that trend continuing.  Elves rebound with a 4-2 win.

Denim Demons at Tuques

Rich: I hope these teams meet in the playoffs, because it would be a really good game. If everyone shows, I’m going with the Demons in a bounce back game…3-2. Game of the Week
Derek: After the Demons disappointing loss last weekend, they need this game.  Nevertheless, LF prevails 4-3.
Eli: La Famiglia tried the strategy of playing Denis and Shafiq the whole game last week, and it worked. We see them both chipping in a goal in a 4-2 Famiglia win.

Dark Rainbows at Tompkins Square Riots

Rich: Brian Ferry of Poutine told me Ari stood on his head and deserved a star last week for the Rainbows. I didn’t give him a star because his team lost. Kinda thinking his team will lose again. Riots 3-1.
Derek: Rainbows 3-2.
Eli: We could pick the Rainbows to win, but then the Riots would be upset, because they read the website. We could pick the Riots to win, but then the Rainbows would be upset, because they read the website.  So we see both teams playing even through regulation and overtime.  Then one of them wins in the shootout…let’s say the Rainbows.

Gouging Anklebiters at Poutine Machine

Rich: I heard Matt L. tell Sven he was sober last week. Then he shut out the Rainbows. No shutout this time, and no victory…2-1 Anklebiters. Though Sven has Coach of the Year clinched.
Derek: Gotta go with the Biters, but in one of Poutine’s typical low-scoring games.
Eli: If this game were Saturday, we’d take Poutine. But it is on Sunday, so we’ll go with the Anklebiters, 3-1.

LBS, Inc. at Fresh Kills

Rich: Didn’t these teams just play? Same teams, same result. FK 6-3. OK, Tim won’t give up six goals. 4-2.
Derek: Fresh Kills 5-2.
Eli: No more Scott Lee and Alex Rouleau for Fresh Kills.  LBS, Inc. with the mild 4-3 upset win.

Maybe Nick Hobbs will surprise us all and show up on Sunday.

Scott Lee might be gone from BTSH, but there is the slight chance of a Nick Hobbs sighting on Sunday. Rejoice!

What The Puck at Sky Fighters

Rich: A rematch of the 2009 finals, only not even close. Same result though…Sky Fighters victory. Sorry WTP, I picked you last week, I never pick a team to win two weeks in a row. True story.
Derek: Sky Fighters take the win 4-2.
Eli: Can What The Puck win two in a row without captain Corey? No, they can’t. Sky Fighters, 3-1.

Corlears Hookers at Butchers

Rich: If I don’t pick the Butchers Rachel says the Lady Knights will get me. Bring it. How can I ever pick against the Hookers again after last week. My nieces who were at the game called Jason Eitel uncle. My mom said Noelle is like the son she wished she had. Hookers 5-1. Jeff scores a meaningless goal.
Derek: Corlears looked sharp last week, so them. 5-2.
Eli: Jason probably won’t be there on Sunday. Noelle probably will. And Corlears wins 4-2…probably.
