20 Questions With Roxanne Gaudiel

asdfasdfasdfa

Elite.

Following in the success of former BTSH.org features such as Know Your Neighbor, the ever popular PlayHer Spotlight, and “20 Questions With Mike Dudelovitch,” we present to you…another 20 Questions. This week, we profile Mathematics all-star, Roxanne Gaudiel.

What do you do for a living?

Full time geek, part time hockey fanatic = technical business analyst at hedge fund (Fortress) and co-founder of an almost ready to show the world hockey app called Athletes Only (www.AthletesOn.ly).  Basically a LinkedIn/MeetUp specifically for athletes.

Where are you from originally?

Like Dani from last week’s Q&A, I’m from Florida, specifically a retirement town an hour south of Tampa (Sarasota). I think you found the only two Bolts fans in NYC – let’s go Lightning!

How did you discover BTSH?

And also like Dani, a good ice hockey friend suggested I join her team, so we could tear it up…and then left a few games later. I’m sensing a trend.

Who could that friend be?

Who could that friend be?

You walk into a bar.  What do you order from the bartender?

After work -> Chilled patron neat
After hockey -> Blue light (Labatt for the non-Canadian beer drinkers)

What’s on your DVR right now?

Who owns a DVR any more? Just crammed in a full season of The Walking Dead tho.

May as well be an 8 Track player.

The world’s ending tomorrow.  What are you having for your last meal?

Surf and turf with a side of creamed spinach. Thanks for that, now I’m hungry.

What websites do you visit most frequently?

Why, my own of course (www.AthletesOn.ly) and the dev site of my app (soon to be released!) – thanks for the plug.  And then NHL.com and TechCrunch.

What’s the most frequently played song on your iPod?

Who owns an iPod any more? Are you reusing these 20 questions from the early 2000’s?  I’m not ashamed to say it – On Spotify, I have Taylor Swift’s new song, “Shake It Off” on repeat. It puts me in a coding trance.

Dogs or cats?

My cat would kill me if I said dogs. But he acts like a dog, so I’d have to say dog-like cats.

What was the best concert of your life?

Between the Boss and Pearl Jam.

You have 24 hours to live.  What would you do?

Children (or at worst, my employer) may read this site, so I can’t say, except that it would involve a puck, a stick, and a private jet.

What’s your favorite sports team or teams?

I think I already covered this, but I’m hometown proud, go Bolts! And I will forget that the Bucs exist for another year.

Who’s your biggest celebrity crush?

Mike Richter.

Beezer was sexier.

File photo.

Who is your favorite teammate?

Every goalie on my team (but only if I’m a forward, if I’m in net, every defensemen).

Who is your favorite goalie to score on?

Any goalie who would get visibly upset after I scored. I thrive off your anguish.

What’s your go-to breakfast cereal?

Eggs and bacon.

That's a sad looking happy face.

How do you spend your Sundays when not at BTSH?

I actually have a nice little Sunday planned, going to Home Depot… All Will Farrell humor aside, probably a combination of Sunday fun-day or binge watching.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

While I have so many, I have to reiterate Dani’s: every in-bound slap into the gut of the defender kills me a little bit inside.

What is your idea of a dream vacation?

Scuba Diving, pond hockey and then skiing. I don’t know if this exists in one place though.

What advice would you give to a BTSH rookie?

For the love of God, keep the ball down. I bruise easily.
