The BTSH Hall of Fame

Two years ago, when Sven was running this site, he thought BTSH should have its own Hall of Fame. We all thought it was an amazing idea. So this season we are going to try and get your opinions (privately) on who you think is HOF worthy. We’d rather not have it in the comment section because we want the election to be a surprise. So if you have someone you think is deserving, please let me know. We are also forming a Veterans Committee of people who were around before the Modern Era (2008-Current). If you were around from the beginning and wish to be on that committee please let me know. All the committee will do is email each other who they think is deserving, come up with one candidate and they will be inducted. The criteria is you need to have played 5 years.

Here is the list of people Sven said should go into the Hall of Fame. All the names were Sven, Monica and Baby Talia.

With that said, lets give a brief review of the 7 BTSH Hall of Famers.

Class of 2013
Stacy K., Ken, Andy P.

Stacy K: When the committee was talking about which players to vote in, Kehoe’s name was not mentioned. When her name was brought up, every member of the committee unanimously agreed she should be part of the first batch of HOFers. Outside of Amy L. (Sky Fighters) and Ellery, I’m not sure too many people could hang with her at the Johnson’s or Ace (Anklebiters of course excluded bc they could hang with anyone). She reffed, played a solid game of hockey and the league certainly misses her, both on and off the court.

Ken (Alpha Male): If you ever needed a hug, you need to look no further than Ken. Of course that’s only applicable if the you in question is named Karsten. Reliable sources told me when Ken got married and the Priest said, “You may kiss the bride” Ken slashed the Priest and said, “Fuck you. Asshole.” But his grumpyness aside, the guy was a good sport. The Lbs. once hit the post and the ref called it a goal, and Ken told the ref it never went in. Sascha immediately sold Ken to Maine where he is living now.

Andy P. (Math): Andy was one of the best players in BTSH when the league first started, and not much changed when he left. He was still one of the best. Its a shame Derk didn’t sell his soul earlier to get the Norris clan, Joey Bats, James, Roxy and Michelle, bc Andy never got to play with a contender. He may have been the difference last year in their “loss” against the Hookers.

2014 Class
Monica, Alex (Mega), Bob W, and SB

Monica's reaction when she found out she got into the BTSH HOF before Sven.

SB: Credit Dave (Riots) for the SB selection. We foolishly weren’t giving any love to the old-timers and Dave set us straight. There would be no league without “The Creator” SB. And their should be no HOF without her as well. I know nothing about her except she likes Friday Night Lights. That alone should get her in. (for the future voters, I watched FNL too so please take that into consideration when deciding my candidacy)

Bob UU: While SB created the league, Bob ran it. At least when I got here in 2008. In truth, both SB and Bob should have been the first two inductees. They are the King and Queen of BTSH’s Prom and yes, we should totally have a prom. Tim B. if you ever want to make up for the 2013 All-Star Game this is the way to do it! Back to Bob…solid player, great ref and still willing to help out BTSH anyway he can. There is not one person that does more for the league than Bob.

Alex (Mega): Much like Bob, Alex will do anything for the league. When I put out the email asking for refs he always replies, “Gimmie.” He hates you and your team but he still refs the fairest game around. He even scored on a penalty shot this season. However the man is not perfect. He did lose to Julie in arm wrestling this season. C’mon dude, she’s good but still.

Monica: There were no discussions about whether Monica was deserving. It was a unanimous yes. Monica was passionate, a solid player but most of all really fun. Especially when she drank. Like all the HOFers she made BTSH a better place, but unlike most of them she also smiled.

We really should get less grumpy people for the 2015 class. Sorry Schuey and Jeff K.!
