BTSH HOF- Amy Baker (Veterans Committee)

Imagine the baseball HOF without Babe Ruth? It wouldn’t be a real HOF. So thanks to Dave (not) Gil d.R. we inducted SB into the HOF last year. This year we decided to form a committee of old-timers, Dave, Coach and Amy J. When I told them my idea they loved it and agreed to be part of the committee. Dave was looking forward to having a beer and discussing who he thought was worthy. Unfortunately, both Dave and Coach told me 100% they are voting for Amy Baker, so I don’t think the beer, or Amy J.’s vote ever happened. I then asked Dave to send me a picture or give me some details and that didn’t happen either. So below are two pictures of Not Amy Baker.

I googled Amy Baker hockey and this is the most athletic picture that came up.

Written by Coach:

In the beginning, it was SB, and Amy Baker was right there with her. Amy was the earliest biggest promoter of the “Don’t Be A Dick” ethos of the league and she was instrumental in codifying the fundamental rules, as well.  (The memory gets fuzzier and fuzzier with time, but she may even have been the originator of the phrase. She was a key figure in founding the league, and without her, I don’t think it would ever have gotten off the ground beyond the rudimentary scrimmaging under bridges and in schoolyards that were the origins of BTSH.
She was also a key figure in founding one of the early franchise pillars of the league, the Unicorns.  If it weren’t for meeting her future husband in the league (Original Demon, Greg “Zippy” C., who had a hard time playing by the rules his own girlfriend created, often leading to comical in-game arguments between the two), a second ACL injury, and being a mother of two, I’m sure she would still be out on the court tearing it up.
Here’s to you, Baker…
This fake Amy Baker is quite the athlete!
